with a rectangular veined liver grey and white marble top with rounded corners, above a frieze drawer enclosing a drop-front leather- lined writing surface and four drawers one fitted for writing implements, with a pierced baluster gallery, the angles flanked by female terms in drapery, with a pair of cupboard doors, enclosing three rosewood and maple drawers, with a further drawer in the apron, on flattened disc feet, the whole applied with gilt bronze banding and acanthus and inlaid with brass panelling, strapwork and foliage
