Notes

Etha Richter was sculptress working in Dresden with a particular fascination with animals. She produced work in bronze, porcelain and plaster. In 1945 her studio was destroyed by a bomb and over 500 of her works were lost so very little of her work survives. Perhaps her most noteworthy work was designing the portrait medallion of Käthe Kollwitz for the Käthe-Kollwitz Memorial stone in Dresden, Germany. In 1968 she was made an honorary member of the Verband Bildender Künstler der DDR (Association of Fine Artists)
