A FRENCH SILVER COFFEE-POT
MARK OF MARTIN-GUILLAUME BIENNAIS, PARIS, 1809-1819
Tapering cylindrical and on a milled foot, the sides applied with a depiction of Cupid holding a laurel leaf and sitting astride a hippocamp, the spout terminating in a duck's mask, the detachable cover with an ebonised finial above openwork trailing foliage, marked under base, on edge of base, inside cover and on cover bezel, also marked with a later French tax mark
