Description

Scenes of merchants and their wares by a quayside, in both European and Asian dress, possibly painted by Johann Gregorius Höroldt (1700-1779), in gilt scrollwork quatrefoil cartouche filled with Böttger-lustre panels edged with gilt and red scrolls, with flower-spray in the Kakiemon manner. Lidded pot 8"T, creamer 4"T, lidded bowl 3-1/2"T, cups 2-1/2"T, saucers 1-1/4"T x 5-3/8"D, tray 1" x 12-7/8" x 16-5/8". Prov: from the collection of Frederick Hale McDuff.
