Mark of Martinus van Stapele, The Hague, probably 1759, also struck with later Dutch duty marks; caster with mark of Jan Willem Burger, Den Haag, 1759
Oval, on four shaped rocaille feet, plain body with two shaped scrolling foliate and shell handles, scroll and shell upper rim, the detachabele oval frame centred by a holder containing a swirling baluster caster with detachable pierced cover, the openwork frame holding two later cut-glass bottles, a small bottle and a small pot, marked on base and inner rim of caster
