Christie’s charges a premium to the buyer on the Hammer Price of each lot sold at the following rates: 29.75% of the Hammer Price of each lot up to and including €20,000, plus 23.8% of the Hammer Price between €20,001 and €700,000, plus 14.28% of any amount in excess of €700,001. A signed grisaille overdoor in the Lakenhal, showing an Allegory on Overseas Trade by van der Mij can be compared with the one offered for sale. It also shows a rather hard linear style, especially by comparison with the much softer and more atmospheric grisailles by Jacob de Wit (Leiden, Stedelijk Museum De Lakenhal, inv.nr. 340)(C. Wansink, Oud Holland, Volume 99, Number 3, 1985, pp. 201-215)
