Notes

Soren Georg Jensen (1917-1982) was the second youngest of Georg Jensen's six children. Following in his older brother Jorgen's footsteps, Soren trained as a silversmith and apprenticed at his father's firm from 1931 to 1936. He later studied sculpture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Sculpture in Copenhagen and also in Paris. In 1949, Soren returned Denmark to join the firm, and was recognized for his highly sculptural and abstract designs. In 1962 he replaced his uncle, Harald Nielsen, as artistic director, a position he held until 1974.
