Description

A Chinese Ink Painting on Paper, Chen Chun (1483-1544),
depicting a sleeping bird on a branch, having poetic inscription and signed Daofu with one artist's seal, reading Baiyang Shanren to the upper left, with two additional collector's seals in each of the lower corners including a seal of Xu Kaiheng, framed.
Height 15 3/4 x width 12 3/4 inches.

Condition Report

In overall good, complete condition, with scattered, multiple scratches to the paper, with minor surface abrasions. Abrasion and wear to each of the seals. Toning throughout, with a horizontal line or impression in the lower half of the paper, possibly from the paper's manufacture, with wear and scratches to the silk margins. Laid down to paper.
