This lot features an oil on board portrait of a mountain trapper by Detha Watson titled, "Cinnamon Bear". Detha is a professional artist specializing in the medium of oils, primarily - character studies, fantasy illustrations, landscapes, and southwestern art. She says of herself, "I have been a professional artist for over forty years. I am self taught and paint in oils on canvas or board. For many years I lived in Scottsdale and painted mainly Native American art. I have greeting cards with Leanin'Tree and collector's plates with the Franklin Mint. I love portraiture and do many scenes or children at play. I think my greatest gift is in portraiture, capturing the essence of a person is the personal goal I set for myself.
