SIGNED ISMA'IL JALAYIR, QAJAR IRAN, CIRCA 1860
Gouache on buff paper, the panel with a bold nasta'liq verse painted in black with white floral borders, the calligraphy on a ground with densely worked forest with tall trees inhabited by small birds, signed along the bottom edge kamtarin bandah-ye astan Isma'il Jalayir, a later owner's stamp in the lower right hand corner, the folio creased, small repairs to the lower corners, laid down between gold and polychrome rules and minor coloured borders on buff card
