Biography

ZQ ART is a premiere art source for collectors around the world. Our expertise in auctions was gained from managing several world class art collections, including the sale of over 1,000 lots from the art collection of Oscar-winning director, Jonathan Demme. ZQ ART has successfully sold consignments as varied as 16th century to modern day chess sets, tribal, folk & ethnographic arts, Russian, Old Master and Latin American paintings. With a specialty in vintage Haitian paintings, founder Jose Zelaya has have taken his knowledge and passion for self-taught art to include in their repertoire intuitive and visionary artists from Europe and the United States. The gallery has participated in many art fairs and cultural shows: Outsider Art Fair (New York, NY), Slotin Folk Fest (Atlanta, Georgia), Nuit Blanche (Toronto, Canada) and Ramapo College (Mawah, NJ). Our founder works closely with collectors, galleries and major museums, and offer services that range from collecting management to selling strategy, curatorial, framing, appraisals and conservation.
