Biography

The first auction at Reeman Dansie took place on Wednesday, July 6th, 1881 in a premises at Headgate built by Charles Fuller. Harry Reeman and Leonard Dansie took over the business from Fuller and cultivated the auction tradition that continues today at Reeman Dansie.

In 2003, the firm moved to Severalls Business Park in Colchester. With over 134 years of experience, the house specializes in antiques, fine art, Royal memorabilia, classic cars, and collectables.

In 2008, Reeman Dansie realized £440,000 ($875,121) from the auction of the William Tallon Collection. The sale of Royal letters, Christmas cards, and other Royal memorabilia owned by Tallon, who served as the Queen Mother’s butler for 52 years, launched Reeman Dansie’s reputation as the only UK auction house to specialize in Royal collections.
