Established in 1931, Merrill's Auction Gallery has proudly identified as Vermont's largest auction house since 1967, working with museums, institutions, and private collectors.


Conducting thousands of auctions in the Northeast, and setting numerous world records, Merrill's Auction Gallery specializes in auctions of fine art and antiques, orientalia and carpets, books and ephemera, firearms and militaria, mid-century and folk art, jewelry and silver, and myriad other collections. To date, Merrill's Auction Gallery has partnered with Invaluable.com for 30 auctions, and caters to a vibrant cosmopolitan audience, with the most superlative and eclectic of tastes.


Notable sales include a Steinway & Sons baby grand piano, for $12,100; a 1931 Dodge Brothers box truck, for $13,250; an 18k Egyptian Revival ladies pendant watch, for $20,125; a Gorham 11 inch sterling Arctic Ice Bowl with figural polar bears, for $23,600; a 26 inch 120 gun bone model of Le Majestueux, for $35,200; a rare 18th century Swiss gold enamel and pearl set singing bird box, with marks of Jean Georges Remond, for $48,000; a Marcus Star sapphire and diamond brooch, for $73,700; and Portinari's Mother and Children, for $253,000.

Merrill's Auction Gallery offers the expertise of its team of specialists in auction estimates for your items, at no cost or obligation. Appointments are encouraged for onsite assessments, Monday through Friday, from 9am to 4pm. Email submissions are also accepted, and detailed descriptions and photographs are requested. One may additionally contact Merrill's Auction Gallery to request an appraisal at a specified location for a large item or estate.
