Based in the heart of the Potteries we attract a great deal of pottery and porcelain actually made in the area, 18th century, 19th century as well as 20th century ceramics.

WORLD RECORD PRICES ACHIEVED

A World Record Price was achieved for this Sir Stanley Matthews Character Jug, measuring just 4” high and one of only three produced – the hammer fell at £32,200!

In the same Specialist Doulton Auction a rare Royal Doulton figure “Robbie Burns” HN42 sold for £11,500 – this was the second highest price ever achieved for a Doulton figure.

The First Day of our Quarterly Fine Art Sales are always devoted entirely to Doulton and Beswick, and typical wares put under the hammer include Figures, Character Jugs, Animal Figures, Flambe, Lambeth, Stonewares, Bunnykins, Beatrix Potter, Horses, Horses and Riders, Cattle, Wild Animals and Bird Figures. A number of rare PROTOTYPE Figures are usually included.

Our Doulton and Beswick Auctions attract buyers from all over the world, and therefore maximum prices are achieved.

THE POTTERIES


Based in the heart of the Potteries we naturally specialise in pottery and porcelain and alongside our Specialist Doulton and Beswick Auctions there are sections devoted to Moorcroft, Minton, Wedgwood, Carlton Ware, Shelley, Charlotte Rhead, Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper as well as many others including Furniture, Paintings, Silver, Jewellery, Collectors Items and Objets D’Art.

REGULAR SALES

Two Day Fine Art Sales are held every three months and these are interspersed with regular Household Furniture Sales every two weeks. This means that we handle complete house clearances, or just a single item, whether Fine Antiques or Household Effects - quickly and efficiently. Carriage can be arranged at short notice, whilst our storage facilities enable us to store property which is awaiting a relevant Sale without charge. The sale of the contents of a house on the premises can be arranged. A complete service is provided for solicitors, trustees and executors.
