Auction Room Services

Based in the historic town of Market Harborough Gilding's have, over the last twenty-one years, established themselves as one of the regions leading salerooms, serving the Midlands and Eastern Counties. Experienced valuers are on hand at the Roman Way salerooms to evaluate your discoveries, be they family heirlooms or oddments from the attic or cellar. This service is free and without obligation. If your objects are too large or numerous we can arrange for a valuer to visit your home.Should you wish to include items in forthcoming sales these objects may be consigned and will be held in readiness for an appropriate auction sale. Gilding's comprehensive sales programme enables us to allocate individual lots in collective or specialist auctions so as to realise the best possible price. In total we auction over 20,000 lots each year. Illustrated catalogues are produced for Fine Art & Antique Sales. Such auction sales are advertised nationally and internationally and our catalogues are mailed to several hundred dealers and collectors at home and abroad. On-line catalogues of our monthly sales of Antiques, Victoriana & Collectables, and our Fine Art & Antique Auctions are available on our website.

Gilding's on View

All our auction sales are open to the public and are held in our purpose built heated and carpeted saleroom with car parking and easy access. Most sales takeplace on Tuesdays. Viewing takes place on Saturdays from 9am to 12 noon and on Mondays from 9am to 4pm (with special extended viewing for prestige sales). Our staff will be on hand to offer advice to those thinking of buying. For those unable to attend, commission clerks are on hand to execute written and postal bids on the client's behalf and a telephone bid system is also operated on appropriate lots. Illustrated catalogues are published for all our Fine Arts Sales, and intending purchasers may join our mailing by subscription to ensure direct notification. Application forms are available. In-house catalogues are produced for all Victoriana, Collectors and general antiques sales.

Services for Executors

A complete service is available to Solicitors, Executors and Trustees.Gilding's own transport is available, with ample storage facilities, enabling chattels to be removed from a property quickly and efficiently to secure premises. Alternatively on-site House sales can be arranged at suitable venues and many successful and prestigious auction sales have been held throughout Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.
