Biography

Beckford Fine Art is an independent valuers and auctioneers that provides specialist advice across the fine art market.

Our comprehensive written valuation service provides valuations primarily for the purposes of insurance, probate and tax, and also for sale on the open market.

We also act for private clients wishing to dispose of, or acquire, works of art.

Located between Ross–on–Wye and Hereford we are well positioned to provide a professional service to our clients both regionally and throughout the United Kingdom.

Beckford Fine Art was founded in 2007 by James Forster.

Prior to establishing Beckford Fine Art, James worked as a Picture Valuer for Sotheby's, Bond Street. He travelled extensively throughout the United Kingdom and visited parts of Europe cataloguing and valuing large high value picture collections.

He has also worked for Bonhams, Bath as Head of the Picture Department, and Dreweatt Neate, Tunbridge Wells as a General Valuer and Auctioneer.

James is a member of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers.
