      Est: -

Shlomo Zipman (1905-1989), figures in a Jewish town (the painting reflects the life of the town in which Zippman was born and lived in his childhood), oil on canvas, reasonable wear damage, signed, framed, dimensions: 65x95 cm. , And is considered one of his best works! Shlomo Zipman was born in 1905 in the Jewish settlement of Ingolts, the Russian Empire, in a Zionist family. In 1912 the family immigrated to Palestine. After about a year, the father returned to Russia. During the First World War, Zippman was deported to Egypt with his mother and brothers. The family then returned to the Soviet Union and reunited with the father of the family. In 1921 they immigrated again and settled in the city of Ganim (later Ramat Gan). In 1923 the family moved to Merhavia. Between the years 1934-1924, he served as an immigrant guide and lived in several places such as Ra'anana, Ness Ziona and more. Between 1934 and 1945, he lived in Kfar Hess. At that time he joined the Haganah, served as the secretary of the Tel Mond bloc and secretary of the Tel Mond Workers' Council. In 1945, he returned to live in Ramat Gan and served in various positions in the Workers' Council and Mapai, and from 1955 to 1952 he served as the director of several transit camps for immigrants in the Or Yehuda region. His paintings are characterized by a na?ve style and reflect the stations of his life as a laborer in agriculture, as a laborer in paving roads, as a guide in absorbing immigrants in transit camps and as a resident of Ramat Gan. In 1981 his book "Ali-Derekh" was published. Zippman has exhibited in several solo exhibitions and in joint exhibitions with Israeli painters such as Marcel Janco, Naftali Bezem and others.
