Front cover: 356x254 mm; 14x10 inches (image) on 15x11-inch board. Back cover: 330x216 mm; 13x8 1/2 inches (image) on 20x15-inch board. Unsigned. "Illustrated in the French Manner," Les Girls "provides an intimate peak at the world's most uninhibited nightclubs."

        Mixed media on board, signed 'G. Ziel' and inscribed '320 E. 57 Street/PL51435' on the reverse.32 x 29 in., 33 1/2 x 30 1/2 in. (frame).Note: Born Jerzy Zielezinski in Poland, Ziel was sent to Dachau by the Nazis in 1939 where he documented life in the concentration camp through sketches he made on scraps of paper and cloth with small pieces of found charcoal. Two collections of these sketches were published in book form. After the war, Ziel went on to become a successful book illustrator.

Bruckmann KG, (1948). Twenty-four black and white rotogravures of drawings, title-page, contents page as well as two page foreward in rag paper portfolio with folding flaps. Faux signature and drawing by the artist on front cover. Captions and contents page in English, German, French, and Spanish. Foreword in German. Powerful Holocaust art, complete as issued. List of plates: 1) Transport. 2) The New Arrival. 3) Before the Bath. 4) I am Hungry. 5) Night-Shift. 6) When will it be my Turn? 7) Foreman. 8) Punishment. 9) Suicide. 10) "If Only..." 11) Work is Liberty. 12) Garroted. 13) Delirium. 14) Shadows on the Square. 15) The Capo. 16) I am Cold. 17) The Women's Roll Call. 18) The Hospital. 19) Small Criminals. 20) The Prominents. 21) The Shot. 22) To the Wire! 23) Evacuation. 24) Strange Incident. In the camps, Zielszinski had drawn on scraps of paper, using remnants of salvaged charcoal from the heating stoves. After the war, while convalescing, he replicated his sketches and published them. Eventually he emigrated to the US, and by the name George Ziel became a successful illustrator.
