Oil on canvas, framed, signed at the lower right, the original gallery label stuck to the reverse From a Northern German private collection, purchased 1996 at Schoeni Art Galleries in Hongkong - Zhu Yiyong graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Arts where he now teaches himself. He is known for portraits revealing the atmosphere of 19th ct. Qing oil paintings but is widely influenced by French painters of the late 19th/20th ct. In the 1990ies he worked a series of Qing style figure paintings. For this item compare the „Court Musician“, sold at Sotheby’s Hongkong (10-07-2012), lot no. 562. Good condition
