        B. 1950 OVERLAPPED CLASSICS (8 PANELS) each: 49 1/4 by 49 1/4 in. 125 by 125 cm. mixed media: acrylic on wood panels, photocopies, and Plexiglass Executed in 1996. PROVENANCE Private Collection, Europe NOTE Over the past two decades, Zhou Changjiang, born in 1950 and a 1978 graduate of the Art Department of Shanghai Drama Academy, has moved from realism to abstraction and finally to mixed media installation-based work. His large-sized Overlapped Classics (1996) is representative of this shift. It superimposes Bible verses to Buddhist scriptures copied onto eight golden panels, making it impossible to decipher one from the other.
