Daniela Zakina Art for Sale and Sold Prices

Daniela Zekina - I always look for an intimate relationship between the work and the viewer through a variety of subtle details that draw the eye and captivate their attention. My works are figurative their shapes, but the layout will remain unreal. The themes are often linked to mythology, expressions and relevance of its messages. The characters are manifested in the form of metaphors, symbolizing feelings.

I prefer to work with mixed media - acrylic on canvas by adding bright accents created by small free keys of metal powders, as well as relief textures created by the crumpling pieces of paper added.

What interests me most is the delicate relationship between colors, shapes and light. The latter is the more important, since it is able to change the mood of a painting.

In my most recent work I explore the theme of transformation - between forms, between smooth and rugged surfaces, between the keys with broad brush and areas covered by small details. In many I am inspired by Greek mythology, specifically Danaia, Icarus, Daphne, Demetra and Aphrodite who are steeped in our cultural heritage and our contemporary language.

In the other part of my paintings I am interested in the transformation of the human face by supplying objects and shapes differently added, symbolizing an inner world as poetic symbiosis between the real and the imaginary.
