      PAWEL ZAK (*1965) | Untitled 08-4, Poland 2008, from the series 'Sweet Monday and other Still Lifes' Image Size: 85 x 110 cm English: Chromogenic print, mounted and framed in white wooden frame with museum glass 88 x 114,5 cm, in perfect condition. Signed, titled and dated on the mat, numbered "1/7 + 1 AP" on the reverse. In his series, Zak presents a white-laid table as a backdrop for various objects. Their exquisite effect is due to the minimalism of his subtle arrangements, which always play with perspective and visual illusion. In this way, the objects are elevated from their everyday-ness and the tableaux are placed in the iconographic tradition of still-life painting. Deutsch: Chromogener Abzug, unter Passepartout montiert, in weißem Holzrahmen mit Museumsglas 88 x 114,5 cm, in perfektem Zustand. Auf dem Passepartout betitelt, signiert und datiert, rückseitig Editionsnummer "1/7 + 1 AP". In seiner Serie präsentiert Zak einen weiß-gedeckten Tisch als Kulisse für verschiedene Objekte. Die exquisite Wirkung seiner analogen Fotografien verdankt sich dem Minimalismus subtiler Arrangements, die immer Elemente eines Spiels mit Perspektive und visueller Täuschung enthalten. Dadurch werden die verwendeten Gegenstände ihrer Alltäglichkeit enthoben und die Tableaus in die ikonografische Tradition der Stillleben-Malerei gerückt.
