Group of 4 gelatin silver prints USA, circa 1955 Bunny Yeager (1929-2014) - American photographer Two signed in pencil verso 'Bunny Yeager' Dimensions, each approximately: 2 ½ x 2 ½ in. (6.4 x 6.4 cm.) Good condition Often referred to as the "Queen of Pinups", Bettie Page gained a significant profile in the 1950s as a pin-up model, largely due to the photographs taken of her by photographer Bunny Yeager. Known for her jet black hair with trademark bangs, Page is depicted here in a variety of poses and stages of undress on the beach and in tropical locations. Yeager's images of Page helped to define fashion, sexuality and popular culture for decades to come. Executed circa 1955, this group of four gelatin silver prints each measure (approximately) 2 ½ x 2 ½ inches. Two are signed by the photographer verso in pencil. Bettie Page in black hosiery: Yellow adhesive remains recto across entire bottom edge of print, yellow staining verso, otherwise good condition; Bettie Page with driftwood: Horizontal crack in emulsion in black margin at left and hard crescent shape crease at upper right approx. 2 inches long. Otherwise good condition; Bettie Page seated on beach: Overall good condition; Bettie Page with scarf: Still attached to previous paper mount with various inscriptions and Yeager signature verso. Hard creases visible in three places (upper left corner, upper center and bottom left) and a brown stain along upper right extreme edge covering approx. 2 inches but not extending into image. Bunny Yeager (American, 1929-2014) Born Linnea Eleanor Yeager, Bunny Yeager began her career as a pin-up model, at one point the most photographed model in Miami. After retiring from modeling, Yeager began a career as a photographer. She is perhaps best known for her iconic pin-up images of Bettie Page, whom she met in 1954. Yeager's photographs of Page appeared in Playboy Magazine and helped launch both of their careers. In addition, Yeager is also known for her images of Ursula Andress, James Bond and Lisa Winters. The first exhibition of Yeager's work was held in 2010 at The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh. She has been cited as influencing many of today's top contemporary photographers, including Diane Arbus, Cindy Sherman and Yasumasa Morimura.
