This lot features an original oil on canvas floral still life by Thomas Worsey (British 1829 - 1875). Thomas Worsey was a Birmingham (England) flower painter whose fine art education was extremely unusual. He began his training and career as a "Japanner", a painter of decorative paper mache items. Worsey turned to popular still-life paintings as this was the dominant movement in Britain at the time. Worsey exhibited from 1856 - 1874 at several major art shows including the Royal Academy. Painting is signed "Tho Worsey 1874" lower right register. Very Good - Excellent condition. Measures 16" x 18". This piece comes from the Dickenson Estate of Knoxville, TN. We have also included a letter from Prof. Bill Wright attesting to his belief in the authenticity of this piece. Please See Photos for Details. Shipping Available.
