    Pair Framed Henry Wolf (1852-1916) Engravings Pair Framed Henry Wolf (1852-1916) Engravings, one depicting "Portrait of a Girl" after the Ambrogio da Predis work, the other is "A Madonna," after Sandro Botticelli. Used condition with discolor and wavy paper texture, some dotting on one piece, frames have surface wear and a few fleabite losses but generally good condition. Sight is 11-5/8" x 9-1/8", frames 15-1/2"l x 13"w x 1-1/4"d.

Henry Wolf (1852–1916) was a French-born wood engraver who lived and worked in the United States during his most influential work period and until his death. Henry Wolf was born on August 3, 1852 in Eckwersheim, France. He lived in Strasbourg and studied under Jacques Levy and exhibited in Paris. Henry Wolf moved to New York City in 1871. He exhibited 144 wood engravings at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. He was awarded the Exposition's Grand Prize in printmaking that year. His works are held in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Canton Museum of Art. This piece measures 94cm wide by 67cm high (in frame)
