    Tabatière à décor trois ors de rinceaux et ornée du portrait du tsar Nicolas Ier de Russie Iwan Winberg (c. 1825-1846), orfèvre Charles Collins & Söhne, Hanau, L 9 cm, 133 g. Provenance : selon la tradition familiale, cette tabatière a été offerte par le tsar Nicolas Ier au comte Friedrich Wilhelm von Bismarck (1783-1860), lieutenant-général et commandant en chef de la cavalerie du royaume de Wurtemberg, ambassadeur à Berlin, chevalier des ordres russes de Saint-George et Sainte Anne. Sa fille Clara épouse le général suisse Ulrich Wille, commandant des forces armées de la Confédération durant la première guerre mondiale.

    a finely detailed watercolor on ivory, signed at center right, presented under glass in an unmarked silver frame, the emperor depicted in profile against a cloud filled blue sky and wearing a dark uniform with gold epaulettes and blue moire silk sash along with the breast stars of the Imperial Russian Orders of St. Andrew and of St. Vladimir combined with the British Order of the Garter, the Imperial Russian Medal for the Turkish Campaign 1828-1829, the badge of the Royal Order of the Crown of Wurttemberg. 1.75 x 1.25 in.
