      CHRISTIANE HENRIETTE DOROTHEA WESTERMAYR 1772 Weimar - 1841 Hanau ST MARGARET. 1824 Oil on canvas. 120 x 86 cm (F. 132 x 98 cm). Verso: signed 'Henriette Westermäyr, born Stötzer 1824'. The painting presented here is mentioned in the Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie vol. 42 (1897) on pages 187-188. Wilhelm Grotefend emphasises in his article on 'Westermayr, Christiane Henriette Dorothea', that in 1824 the artist painted an oil painting of St Margaret after Raphael and two remarkable Rhine landscapes in the Schutz style.
