Dong Wensheng (b. 1970) Dong Wensheng studied from 1989 until 1992 at the Jiangsu Teachers University in the Art and Design Department. He was a pupil of Zhou Xiaohu, other sources of inspiration for him were traditional Chinese art, porcelain and poetry, as well as physics, Nietzsche and Robert Rauschenberg. His works appear at a first glance as realistic depictions of everyday scenes. But his compositions mostly contain an unexpected element. Wensheng exhibits his works internationally, he has had exhibitions in China, Switzerland, Italy, the US, Austria and Spain. The artist lives and works in Changzhou.
