Matthias Weischer Art for Sale at Auction

Mathias Weischer began his artistic education with studying painting and prints at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig as a master pupil of Sighard Gille. Together with eleven other artists, among them Tom Fabritius, Tim Eitel, David Schnell and Christoph Ruckhäberle, he established the gallery Liga in Berlin. The artist group is known as being called the art movement of the 'Neue Leipziger Schule' for the first time. Weischer works in the mediums of drawing, painting and sculpture. Since 2001, his works are part of international exhibitions. The collections of the Museum of Modern Art Frankfurt am Main, the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles and the Rubell Family Collection Miami possess works of his. A series of awards have honored his work, for example the scholarship of the Junge Kunst of the Kunsthaus Essen, the August-Macke-Prize and the Art Prize of the August-Macke-Foundation. The artist currently works in his own studio in Leipzig.
