      Friedrich Wilhelm Georg Büxenstein (1857 Berlin - 1924 Ladeburg) after Max Weese (1855 - 1933 ): In action, 19th century, Photogravure Technique: Photogravure on Paper Inscription: Below the depiction the title "Theodor Körner at the head of the Lützow Free Army in the battle at Gadebusch on 26 August 1813/Prayer during the battle: Vater ich rufe dich! The steam of the guns roars around me." Date: 19th century Description: inscribed "M. Weese pinx.", "Georg Büxenstein & Comp. Berlin hel.". Photogravure after M. Weese. The young poet and dramatist Theodor Körner on horseback at the head of the Lützow's Freischar. Person: Theodor Körner (1791 Dresden - 1813 Rosenow near Lützow) German writer and freedom fighter. Member of the Lützow Free Corps during the wars of liberation. Keywords: 19th century, Romanticism, Military, Germany, Size: 23,0 cm x 17,0 cm (9,1 x 6,7 in), Depiction: 13,8 cm x 10,3 cm (5,4 x 4,1 in) Condition: Good condition. The sheet shows discolourations and minor foxing. The corners are bumped, the upper right and lower left corners show a crease. Tear at the upper margin, a water stain at the lower margin. The sheet is slightly rubbed along its edge due to the printed leaves.
