        (VOYAGES AND TRAVEL) Webster, W. H. B., Narrative of a Voyage to the Southern Atlantic Ocean. Richard Bentley, London, 1834. Two vols. Five plates and two charts. O. Original cloth rebacked in cloth. Edges lightly rubbed. Top of title page clipped off but not affecting text. Interior clean. Plates each have a line of old stain otherwise quite crisp. In the Years 1828, 29, 30, performed in H.M. Sloop Chanticleer under the Command of the late Captain Henry Foster. From the private journal of W.H.B. Webster, surgeon of the sloop. A scientific expedition crossing the Atlantic four times to study the earth's shape, meridian distances and other meteorological questions. Captain Foster was drowned in a canoe at the end of the voyage.
