There are many rockholes close to the place where I was born. I would travel to all these places with my parents. Ngayuku ninti pulka (I know all this country). Aloysius is the main rockhole. The other rockholes in this painting are Pakura, Anumarapiti, Palki, Punuwara, Wangutiti, Atanga, Yaliri, Palkarli and Wirkuratja. I travelled around this country in the early days with my family. There's a lot of rockholes and we used to walk to all of them. We would stop and camp for a while collecting food and then move on to another place. The rockhole at Mt Aloysius had good water. I was born here. Kapi Tjuta, winki (this is all the rockholes). Many journeys were travelled on foot in the early days by Anangu all over this country. Tjukurpa pulka (important creation stories). The rockhole in the centre is Pilakatjiluru. The other places are; Yaliriku, Palkali, Ulturtjara, Inurantja, Tilpuluntjatja, Mapatji, Kunpun, Piltja-Piltja, Wala Wala, Numpa Numpa, Altjuranga, Tulnya, Yukala and Kata Ala.’

      Nyankulya Walayampari Watson (d. 2012) has painted her home country, Aloysius. In the centre of the painting is the rockhole Aloysius where she was born. During her youth, she and her family travelled around the bush hunting and gathering. She names the rockholes in her traditional as Pukara, Anamarapiti, Paiki, Punuwara, Wangutjiri, Witapi, and Atjan, which are shown around the perimeter of the work. Watson was a senior artist who began her career at Irrunytju Arts until it moved out of Aboriginal control in 2006, after which she painted at Ninuku Arts and Tjungu Palya. Her works are held in several important public and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of South Australia, Art Gallery of Western Australia and National Gallery of Victoria.
