      Broadside Proposal Portrait of an un-named Steam Yacht, rendered and signed by G.W. Wason of Glasgow, Scotland, done twenty years after the founding of the Company in 1873; the first design firm dedicated solely to classic yachts for the wealthy and Rulers of Europe. Watercolor, signed lower right and dated Mar 24th, 1893. Unframed, 22" x 44" image on 26" x 49", chip to top margin, well away from image. Toned and stained, could be restored. Per the Company: "In 1873 George Lennox Watson established the first yacht design office in the world. Initially specialising in sailing yachts, G.L. Watson & Co. achieved international acclaim with the America’s Cup challengers Thistle, Valkyrie II, Valkyrie III and Shamrock II. The legendary Britannia remains the most successful racing yacht of all time and the list of graceful designs includes such yachts as Vanduara, Queen Mab, Meteor II, Bona and Rainbow.".
