An excellent letter by Jingwei, in Chinese characters, three pages, rice paper, 4to, 23rd May 1934, in red and black Chinese characters. Wang Jingwei in his capacity as Minister of Foreign Affairs sends an official letter from this Ministry with his instructions regarding the new construction buildings and location for the Li Hui University in the An Hui province. This University project had suffered several changes and delays due to Japanese invasion. Accompanied by the original large and attractive envelope, post-stamped, with very large Chinese characters. About VG £1000-1500 Wang Jingwei accepted to form for the Japanese Empire a collaborationist government in Nanjing in 1940, serving as head of State of this Japanese puppet government until he died in 1944 shortly before the end of WWII. Although Jingwei is still regarded in China as an important contributor in the Xianhai Revolution, his collaboration with Imperial Japan is still a subject of academic debate, being often regarded as a traitor.
