WANG JILIN   (1871 – 1960) Plum Blossom ink and colour on paper, hanging scroll signed WANG JILIN, with dedication, dated 1940, with seals of the artist 63.5 x 28cm. 汪吉麟   梅花圖 設色紙本   立軸 Provenance: Collection of Mr and Mrs Chen. The Chens arrived in London in the late 1960s to set up as successful restaurateurs and were passionate collectors of Chinese art, mainly acquiring pieces within London since that date. They moved in circles of artists and connoisseurs and counted among their close friends the artists Fei Chengwu (1911 – 2000) and Zhang Qianying (1909 – 2003).
