Behind glass in 18th century gilt wood and gesso frames having molded inner and outer borders. A manuscript label en verso on one print states that "These Eight Prints illustrating the History of Don Quixote from the Paintings by Charles Coypel were the property of the late Sir Isaac Heard Garter KA and purchased at his sale June 15. 1822 H. VL." Sir Isaac Heard (1730 - 1822) was a Knight of the Garter and spent his lengthy career serving in London's College of Arms. SS 12.25 x 12; DOA 14.5 x 14.75 in. The glass appears to be replaced; various degrees of chipping to frames; heavy browning and some stains to prints. Not examined out of the frames.
