      DESCRIPTION: Orlando Gray Wales (American, 1865-1933). A collection of 11 oil on artist board paintings done in the Impressionist style by Allentown, Pennsylvania artist Orlando Gray Wales. The works depict landscapes in and around the Lehigh Valley probably in the early 20th century. Five works unsigned and the balance signed "Wales" or "O.G. Wales". Born in Philadelphia and a student of William Merritt Chase at the Pa. Academy of the Fine Arts, Wales came to Allentown in 1912. His works are represented in the collection of the Allentown Museum of Art. MEASUREMENTS: 8" x 10" (smallest) to 16" x 12" (largest). CONDITION: Works all appear to be varnished. Larger three exhibit some surface wear. All are soiled.
