        Est: $100 - $150

This is an etching of the Mayflower by George C Wales. George was born in Boston and spent much of his time near the water, so most of his etchings depict the waterfront and sailing ships. The 1920‘s and 30‘s were a prime period for his work, and his etchings were usually done in drypoint. The etching is inscribed "Mayflower, Cape Cod Bay 1921" and is signed on the matte in the lower right corner. The date is about two hundred years after the Mayflower landed at Plymouth Harbor. The overall size is 14 1/2 x 16 1/2 in. wide and the sight size is 7 x 9 1/4 in. wide.
