Jh., rechts unten signiert und ortsbezeichnet "Walcha – Meissen", rückseitig auf dem Keilrahmen Stempel einer Dresdner Malutensilienhandlung, Craquelure, restaurierungsbedürftig, gerahmt (rest.bed.), Falzmaße ca. 134 x 101 cm. Künstlerinfo: dt. Landschaftd- und Blumenmaler, Graphiker, Fachbuchschriftsteller und Archivar (1901 Riesa bis 1968 Meißen), Kindheit und Volksschulbesuch in Riesa, Schüler am Realgymnasium in Meißen, Wanderung über Thüringen nach Franken, Studium der Literatur, Philosophie, Kunstgeschichte und Psychologie an der Technischen Hochschule und der Akademie der Bildenden Künste Dresden, 1924 Abschluss als Kunsterzieher, 1924–43 tätig als Lehrer am Franciscaneum und ab 1936 auch an der Fürstenschule St. Afra in Meißen, parallel als Kunstmaler täig, Vorstandsmitglied im Kunstverein Meißen, Mitglied der Reichskammer der bildenden Künste Deutschlands, 1943–45 Kriegsdienst im 2. Weltkrieg an der Ostfront und 1945–46 sowjetische Kriegsgefangenschaft, 1946 Rückkehr nach Meißen und freischaffend als Maler und Fachbuchschriftsteller, ab 1957 als Archivar freier Mitarbeiter der Porzellanmanufaktur Meißen, 1973 erschien posthum sein Standartwerk "Meissener Porzellan", unternahm Studienreisen nach Österreich, Italien (Verona, Florenz, Pisa, Genua, Venedig), tätig in Meißen und auf Schloss Scharfenberg, Quelle: Vollmer, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Lexikon", Eisold "Künstler in der DDR" und Wikipedia. Landscape and flower painter, graphic artist, specialist book writer and archivist (1901 Riesa to 1968 Meißen), childhood and primary school attendance in Riesa, pupil at the Realgymnasium in Meißen, migration via Thuringia to Franconia, studied literature, philosophy, art history and psychology at the Technische Hochschule and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Dresden, graduated as an art teacher in 1924, 1924-43 worked as a teacher at the Franciscaneum and from 1936 also at the Fürstenschule St. Afra in Meissen from 1936, also active as a painter, member of the board of the Meissen Art Association, member of the Reich Chamber of Fine Arts in Germany, 1943-45 military service in the 2nd World War on the Eastern Front and 1945-45 in the German Army.
