      Georg Walch (): Portrait of John IV of Anhalt-Zerbst (1504-1551), 18th century, Copper engraving Technique: Copper engraving on Paper Inscription: Inscribed above in the printing plate "Johannes der Vierde von Gottes Gnaden, Fürst zu Anhalt, Grave zu Ascanien, Herz zu Bernburg und zerbl t.", in the oval frame of the portrait "AUXILIUM MEUM À DOMINO. Below the depiction in German with dedication text on the life of the sitter, signed below in the printing plate "G. Walch sculpsit." Date: 18th century Description: Half-length portrait of Prince Johann IV of Anhalt-Zerbst from the House of Ascanians (1504 Dessau - 1551 Zerbst) in a precious fur coat. Below the portrait is the coat of arms of the sitter. Johann was said to have a balanced character and a good education, which is why he served, among other things, as an intermediary in Martin Luther's negotiations with Emperor Charles V.
