          Ming Wai Chinese, (b.1938) Clapping Fish Girl ORIGINAL oil on canvas signed. with signed photo (see back of painting) Wai Ming was born in Canton in 1938. He was the son of a school master with nine children. As a child, he grew up extremely poor. He was raised in Hong Kong, and endured many hardships. There, Wai Ming developed his drawing techniques without any art education. He simply began painting what he saw. In 1974, he left Hong Kong and arrived in San Francisco. Provenance: from Taylor University's Dr. Neil and Mrs. Renee Compton Collection. Proceeds benefit Taylor University endowed scholarship funds.
