Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 7,000 Euro Condition: The painting is in good condition, consistent with age and wear. The canvas is relined and shows scattered marks, where the frame has rubbed. Inspection under UV light reveals larger areas of retouching to the sitter’s face, as well as to the background and the edges. The signature appears to have been strengthened. The stretcher measures 74 x 60.5 cm. The frame shows small traces of use and measures 88 x 75 cm. Juan Bautista Vivaldi (active c. 1848/73) Juan Bautista Vivaldi was active in Seville and preferably composed and painted plafonds. He produced among others ceiling paintings for the salons of Palacio del Marqués de la Motilla in Sevilla (1850) and Palacio Provincial in Cadiz (1862).
