The Voisin model with open front and chauffeur; the soignee woman being handed into the back seat; the classic black and white afternoon dress complimenting the tiled driveway and the suggestion of an architectural column—it all adds up to the kind of luxury and refinement that a top-of-the-line car aspires to in its publicity. After World War I, Gabriel Voisin—who with his brother Charles were the pioneers of the French aviation industry—took over a prototype from Citroen to develop his own luxurious model. This iconic poster of the Ramos-Pinto Company illustrated by Rene Vincent advertises the famous port wine featuring two lovers in profile leaning into one another with only a famous glass of the irresistible Porto Ramos between their lips. An anxious cupid awaits below with bow in hand, using the delicious drink as his arrow. This image is still very much associated with the company to the present date. Rene Vincent (1879-1936) was a French illustrator who was prevalent in the 1920s-1930s. He worked in an Art Deco style and became famous for his poster designs. Vincent had a design style of distorting perspective and dynamism. He was influential in the Art Deco movement in the period between the two world wars. Vincent studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, at first he studied architecture, then changed to graphic arts and ceramics courses. He was also an illustrator for La Vie Parisienne, The Saturday Evening Post, L'Illustration and Fantiso, with most of his contributions to these magazines being fashion illustrations. He created many advertisements for Bugatti, Peugeot, Michelin, and Shell Oil Company. However, his most recognizable work is the circa 1920 Porto Ramos Pinto poster. Founded by Adriano Ramos Pinto in 1880, Casa Ramos Pinto became for noted its innovative marketing strategies. The company quickly became known for its continuous wine research and devotion to the packaging and promotion of the product. As a result of Ramos-Pinto's ingenuity, the company quickly became responsible for half of the wine exported into South America. In 1990, the Casa Ramos Pinto joined the Roederer Group, a French champagne house in business for over two centuries. This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. In this ad, as in so many since, we can see the wealthy couple leading the children to the back seats in the new family sedan. The bright burst of golden leaves, matching the wife's coat, supplants an exhaust plume with clever placement. Together with the Racing Green of the car, it's a superb visual shorthand for "top-down fun from Spring to Fall." Strikingly, this French advertisement doesn't name the car; we suspect it's the 1928 Model A Convertible. And although this copy is missing the bottom half of text, the full-text variant would inform us to "See all Ford agents for the latest Ford creation: new line, elegance and indisputable chic, refined comfort, and mechanical improvements for all models." Vincent had a particular design style of distorting perspective and dynamism. He was influential in the Art Deco movement in the period between the two world wars. Vincent studied at the ecole des Beaux-Arts, at first he studied architecture, then changed to graphic arts and ceramics courses. He was also an illustrator for La Vie Parisienne, The Saturday Evening Post, L'Illustartion and Fantiso, most of his contributions to these magazines were fashion illustrations. He created many advertisements for Bugatti, Peugeot, Michelin, and Shell Oil Company. His most recognizable work is the 1925 Porto Ramos Pinto poster. Original Porto Ramos Vintage Poster by Rene Vincent C1920

This iconic poster of the Ramos-Pinto Company illustrated by Rene Vincent advertises the famous port wine featuring two lovers in profile leaning into one another with only a famous glass of the irresistible Porto Ramos between their lips. An anxious cupid awaits below with bow in hand, using the delicious drink as his arrow. This image is still very much associated with the company to the present date. Rene Vincent (1879-1936) was a French illustrator who was prevalent in the 1920s-1930s. He worked in an Art Deco style and became famous for his poster designs. Vincent had a design style of distorting perspective and dynamism. He was influential in the Art Deco movement in the period between the two world wars. Vincent studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, at first he studied architecture, then changed to graphic arts and ceramics courses. He was also an illustrator for La Vie Parisienne, The Saturday Evening Post, L'Illustration and Fantiso, with most of his contributions to these magazines being fashion illustrations. He created many advertisements for Bugatti, Peugeot, Michelin, and Shell Oil Company. However, his most recognizable work is the circa 1920 Porto Ramos Pinto poster. Founded by Adriano Ramos Pinto in 1880, Casa Ramos Pinto became for noted its innovative marketing strategies. The company quickly became known for its continuous wine research and devotion to the packaging and promotion of the product. As a result of Ramos-Pinto's ingenuity, the company quickly became responsible for half of the wine exported into South America. In 1990, the Casa Ramos Pinto joined the Roederer Group, a French champagne house in business for over two centuries. This is an Original Vintage Poster. It is not a reproduction. "To be young and pretty" is the theme of this charming poster by Rene Vincent for Creme Activa. Creme Activa was a lotion with radium in it - yes, this product was technically "radioactive"! It was developed at a time when the chemical was in vogue for its supposed regenerative, lightening, and smoothing qualities and not the dangerous connotation we know it for today. In reality, these creams were just a fad with only the slightest amount of radium present - which, it turns out, did nothing to slow the inevitable appearance of wrinkles.
