      Oil on canvas. Painter and architect, he is one of the most important and prolific figures of 18th century Valencian painting. In 1768 he was named Academician of Merit of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos, but most of his pictorial production and his work as an architect were carried out for the most part for convents of the Franciscan Order, in which He entered in 1759. A good example of this is this "San Buenaventura", made, undoubtedly, for a convent of this order. Measurements: 60 x 44 cm.

      ATRIBUIDO A FRAY ANTONIO DE VILLANUEVA. VISIÓN DE SAN BERNARDO.

      Atribuido a Fray Antonio de Villanueva (Lorca, Murcia, 1714-Valencia, 1785) Visión de San Bernardo. Óleo sobre lienzo. A relacionar con la obra de Antonio de Villanueva "Visión de Porciúncula" del Retablo de la Iglesia de San Francisco en Aigües de Busot, Alicante. Los estudios artísticos de Villanueva se inclinaron primeramente por la arquitectura y la pintura, mientras, seguía avanzando en su segunda vocación, la religiosa, junto a la orden franciscana. Fue trasladado, tras haber profesado y haberse ordenado sacerdote, al convento valenciano de San Francisco donde perfeccionó su técnica y trabajó en numerosas obras para el cenobio, pintando cuadros para el claustro, la iglesia, el retablo, el altar mayor, la capilla de la Orden tercera y una representación histórica del capítulo general de la Orden franciscana en el mismo convento en 1768. 115 x 91 cm.
