God Help Me If This Is A Dud is a clear message to the production war effort during World War II. This 1942 U.S.A propaganda poster by John Vickery warns the factory workers on the home front to be mindful of their work. Production was a major theme in WWII posters, which emphasized work safety, efficiency, and focus. This poster takes a more serious tone warning about the consequences of shoddy craftsmanship on the home front. John Vickery (1906-1983) was an Australian artist who immigrated to the United States in 1936. As an artist, Vickery produced painting and illustration for both advertising and fine art. He is the only Australian artist to have been a part of the New York School. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.

Condition B+: repaired tears and abrasions at top edge, some into image and text; creases in margins and image; small holes in margins and upper text. Paper. Upper Manhattan's Cathedral of St. John the Divine is one of the two largest Anglican Cathedrals in the world and the world's fifth largest Christian church. Construction began in 1892 and has continued, intermittently through the early years of the 21st century. The planned towers and additions, as shown on this scarce poster from the New York World's Fair, were never completed. Vickery was an Australian artist, painter and illustrator who designed several posters.
