The word depicts a log and plank cabin with grass roof, wood stove pipe standing proudly up through the vegetation. Nearby, a shed sits with red drum in front; backdrop is the rich green mountains of spring. Titled lower left, signed and dated lower right, framed. Measures approximately 22" x 28" overall with a sight image of 18" x 23.5".

    An oil on board painting by acclaimed Alaskan artist Jon Van Zyle (b.1942), entitled 'A Lonesome Feeling'. It depicts a lone musher trudging down a frozen river, flanked by a small outpost of cabins on the river banks to the right, with an imminent journey into bluff lined banks ahead. Signed and dated 1989 at lower right, titled en verso an accompanied by a handwritten note explaining the scene in more detail. Framed, measures approximately 19.5" x 15.5" overall. We do note the presence of a few light surface scuffs to the surface, which are only visibile viewing directly onwards under the proper light, as well as some wear to the frame.

Unbeknownst to the pair of berry pickers, a brown sow stands alert on the slope above, keeping a watchful eye on her young cub and her human neighbors. Signed and dated c.1989, the work is framed in rustic wood with additional notes in the artist's hand en verso. Measures approximately 21.25" x 34.75" overall.
