Measurements: 23,5 x 10 x 14,5 cm. Female bust made in glazed and glazed earthenware. The artistic ceramics factory Essevi was founded in 1934 by the painter, ceramist and designer Sandro Vacchetti in collaboration with the Turin ceramist Nello Franchini, both former employees of the ceramics manufacturer Lenci of Turin. Essevi's production closely continues the Lenci aesthetic, of which Vacchetti was artistic director from its founding until 1933. It presents slight faults in the chin.

Lenci was initially an Italian doll manufacturer established in Turin, founded in 1919. Later, they would expand their production of ceramics and porcelain to diverse audiences. Lenci ceramics are now highly prized collector's items. The name of the company is an acronym of the following Latin phrase: "Ludus est nobis constantrdustria" (the game is our constant work). The company was founded by Enrico Scavini, who in 1915 married Elena König. They both started producing pressed felt dolls, but in the late 1920s they turned to artistic ceramics and porcelain, collaborating with the best artists in Milan. Lenci's collaborators include Luigi Chessa, Giovanni Grande, Otto Maraini, Felice Tosalli, Mario Sturani and Sandro Vacchetti, who was also the first artistic director. The company's dolls achieved great renown, being the most famous dolls in Italy during the 20s and 30s, a time troubled by the fascist dictatorship. In addition, success was It became international in a short time, receiving awards at international exhibitions in Zurich, Rome, Paris and Milan.In the 1950s, the Lenci factory produced Disney figures under license, such as Bambi, Thumper, Peter Pan, Dumbo and Pinocchio. VACCHETTI" and incised number. Model illustrated in "Sandro Vacchetti e la Essevi: Ceramiche del Novecento Italiano", Maria Grazia Gargiulo, Paparo Editioni, Napoli, 2005, pages 49 and 50. Measurements: 38,5 x 17,5 x 21 cm. The Essevi artistic ceramics factory was founded in 1934 by the painter, ceramist and designer Sandro Vacchetti in collaboration with the Turin ceramist Nello Franchini, both former employees of the Lenci ceramics manufacturer in Turin. Essevi's production closely continues the Lenci aesthetic, of which Vacchetti was artistic director from its founding until 1933.
