      Oil on canvas: 56 x 45 cm. Antoni Utrillo i Viadera (Barcelona, ​​1867 – October 10, 1944) was a painter trained in Antonio Caba's studio and later at the Llotja School of Fine Arts, of which Caba was director. He received a scholarship from the Barcelona Provincial Council in Paris (1886), where he worked in the workshops of the painters Coutois and Louis Collin. In 1888 he participated in the Universal Exhibition of Barcelona. He started from a social symbolism; but he drifted towards a conventionalism reflected in many of his portraits. He was a co-founder and was part of the prima and formed part of the first board of directors, with Joan Llimona (painter) and his brother Josep Llimona (sculptor), with Alexandre de Riquer, Dionís Baixeras et al., from the Sant Lluc Artistic Circle (1893) and was part of the permanent board of the Unió Catalanista (1898). He dedicated himself to the poster, to illustration and mural decoration. Beginning in 1908, he made several trips to Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, and England. He then went to America and resided in the Argentine Republic, in Buenos Aires. Upon returning (1916), the First World War prevented him from accepting the invitation to exhibit his work in New York. The President of the Commonwealth of Catalonia, Prat de la Riba, granted him the position of head of protocol and when this institution disappeared, he was the Barcelona Provincial Council until 1926 and later, head of purchases until his retirement in 1936. .
