Napalm Girl: Kim Phuc & Nick Ut Signed 8" x 10.5" Vietnam War Photo (BAS/Beckett)

        Est: -

On June 28, 1972, South Vietnamese planes dropped a napalm bomb on the village of Trang Bang, which had been attacked and occupied by North Vietnamese forces. Nine-year-old resident Kim Phuc joined a group of civilians and South Vietnamese soldiers who were fleeing from the Caodai Temple to the safety of South Vietnamese-held positions. A South Vietnamese Air Force pilot mistook the group for enemy soldiers and diverted to attack. Kim Phuc was badly burned and tore off her burning clothes when Associated Press photographer Nick Ut snapped a photo. His photograph of Kim Phuc running naked amid other fleeing villagers, South Vietnamese soldiers, and press photographers became one of the most haunting images of the Vietnam War. Offered here is that iconic photo, signed by both photographer Nick Ut and "Napalm Girl" Kim Phuc in black felt tip marker. In fine condition and accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
