Sheet inscribed by Herbert Jaeckel (executing copperplate printer) ''Fritz Uphoff began these works in 1949 with the aim of achieving the effect of the painterly in an etching - especially with regard to the cloud formation, which until then had only been indicated in strokes (dashed). His lively, never-ceasing inventive spirit allowed him to achieve his goal to the limit of what was possible. [...] For comparison and contrast - in applied technique - to the series of etchings from 1949/50, a drypoint etching from 1923/24 ''Moorkate mit Schiffgraben'' is enclosed.
